Male Issues
All The Things You Thought Homoeopathy Couldn’t Treat.
Low Libido
Low libido (low sex drive) is a decrease in sexual desire. It’s common and can be temporary or long-term. Libido naturally varies from person to person and can fluctuate throughout your life. But it’s important to see a healthcare provider if a dip in your libido is causing you distress.
Premature Ejaculation
Premature ejaculation occurs when a man has an orgasm and ejaculates earlier during intercourse than he or his partner would like. It’s a common problem, affecting 30% to 40% of men. Causes include physical problems, chemical imbalances and emotional/psychological factors. Treatments include learning techniques to delay ejaculation, counseling and medications.
Male Infertility
Infertility is a common problem for many people assigned male at birth (AMAB). Conception is a complicated process, and there are many obstacles. Fortunately, if you have male infertility, you may be able to have a biological child with your partner. Treatments that can increase your chances of conception are available.
Spermatorrhea
Spermatorrhea is a condition of excessive, involuntary seminal discharge. In several cultures, this referred to ejaculation outside of certain approved sexual practices and was thus a subjective term. A more modern medical definition is the excessive release of semen with no accompanying erection or orgasm.
Varicocele
Varicoceles are swollen veins in your scrotum. They usually cause mild symptoms, including scrotal swelling or aching pain in your testicle. They may not cause any symptoms at all. However, they’re a common cause of infertility. A healthcare provider can diagnose a varicocele and recommend the proper treatment.
Genital Warts
Genital warts are the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI). Certain types of HPV cause genital warts. These types don’t cause cancer. Treatments can get rid of genital warts, but once you have genital warts and HPV, you can always give the STI to someone else. It’s important to use condoms and practice safe sex.
Infections
Epididymitis
Epididymitis is inflammation of your epididymis, a tube at the back of your testicle that carries sperm. This swelling can cause intense pain in your testicle. It can occur at any age, though it happens most often in people between the ages of 14 and 35.
Prostatitis
Prostatitis is a group of conditions that includes acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS). It can cause infection, inflammation and pain in the prostate gland. People assigned male at birth with asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis don’t have symptoms. Acute (sudden) prostatitis is a medical emergency.
Balanitis
Balanitis is a treatable condition that most commonly happens in uncircumcised males. The main symptoms of balanitis include inflammation and pain on the head of your penis. Treatment often includes antifungal creams, antibiotics, regularly cleaning the area and, in some cases, circumcision.
